The Clumsy Hans table trivet was first produced in early 1996 and relaunched in 2016 in close collaboration with designer Nis Hauge. In 2017, MoMa’s design stores in New York and Tokyo included Clumsy Hans in their collection.

Games at the table are okay

As a designer, Nis Hauge likes to play when he designs.

His idea for Clumsy Hans was to create a functional and recognizable product that would also be a playful sculpture on a dining table or in the semi-hidden nooks and corners of the home.

Nis Hauge invites diners to play and explore the unconventional potentials of the dining table by creating variations of Clumsy Hans.

Kids and playful adults love Clumsy Hans as they wait for food to arrive on the table.
